How do you block an eBay member

First of all, add the User ID of the person you want to prevent from messaging you to your Blocked Bidders List.  To do this scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on "Site Map".  From the next page that comes up click on "Manage Bidders" in the section entitled "Selling Activities" and click on the link that reads "Add An eBay Member To My Blocked Bidders List".  A white box will appear on the page - add the User ID of the person you want to block to this box and then click "Submit".

Once you've done this you need to set your account up to stop blocked buyers from being able to contact you.  Go to your My eBay, click on the Account tab and select "Site Preferences" from the drop-down menu.  When the next screen appears look for the part that reads "Buyer Requirements".  To the right of this is an "Edit" link - click on that link and scroll right down to the bottom of the page.  There is a sentence that reads "Don't Allow Blocked Buyers To Contact Me" with a box next to it.  Tick the box and click on "Submit".  This is just a one-off procedure and you won't have to keep on doing this every time you add another person to your Blocked Bidders List, as once this feature has been activated nobody on your Blocked Bidders List will be able to send you e-mails, as if they try to do so they will not be able to get the e-mail to go through.
